Chennai: Ad-Film maker Lloyd Baptista is going to remake Balu Mahendra directed Sadma movie starring Kamal Haasan and Sirdevi in 1983 year.

Director Balu Mahendra directed the movie ‘Sadma’ in the year 1983. ‘Sadma’ is an official remake of Tamil movie ‘Moondram Pirai’. The movie featured Kamal and Sridevi in lead role. Sridevi did role of a young woman who has brains of a child due to head injury.

She was thrown into brothel and was rescued by a lonely school teacher (Kamal) who later falls in love with her. Now this movie is going to be remade and Ad film-maker Lloyd Baptista is going to handle the remake.

Regarding this Baptista said, “Yeah, ! I am remaking Sadma. It is a close to heart movie. It is beautiful. I watched the movie as young boy and still the last scene is ringing on my head. I wanted the current generation to see the movie as they don’t know what real love is.

We have already made discussions and are looking to have some new approaches but nothing is finalized. I don’t want to destroy the essence of the original and at the same time I don’t want too much of drama as most of us have watched the old ‘Sadma’. There will be a lot of expectations for this movie.”
