Kolkata, West Bengal: CM Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress is leading in Kolkata Municipal Corporation Election 2015

As per last report, out of 144 wards, Trinamool Congress has surged ahead in 99 wards followed by Left Front in 16, Bharatiya Janata Party in 9 and Congress in 7. Here are some of the latest updates on Kolkata Municipal Corporation Election.

CM Mamata Banerjee recently expressed her feelings on twitter regarding this huge victory and dedicated it to the people of West Bengal. Showing a kind heart towards Nepal earthquake, she asked her party members to stay away from from victory rallies.

She tweeted that the party will “dedicate the victory to Rabindranath Tagore on 9 May through Rabi Pronaam across Bengal.”

Kolkata Municipal Corporation Election Updates

 

In total 144 wards, Trinamool Congress is in 70 wards, CPM (12 wards), BJP (12 wards) and Congress (8 wards) after two rounds of counting for Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

Former Trinamool Congress general secretary Mukul Roy’s son Subhrangshu Roy won in ward number 6 of Kachrapara Municipality.

Counting finished in some places and Trinamool Congress has won the civic polls in Kanthi, Tamluk, Baruipur, Malbazar Municipalities.

In Katwa, out of total 20 wards, Trinamool Congress won in 10 wards and CPM in 10 wards. Congress won Murshidabad and Kaliaganj Municipality whereas CPM for Tahirpur and Jangipur Municipality.

Deputy Mayor of Kolkata, Farzana Alam lost to a RSP candidate in ward 65 of Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

Rupa Bagchi lost to Trinamool Congress candidate Shanti Ranjan Kundu in ward 32 of Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
