Aamir Khan recently came to the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards. While speaking at the awards show, he spoke about growing ‘intolerance’ and he said about the number of incidents where he and his wife Kiran Rao decided to leave the country.

This speech caused more controversy and social media is flooding with messages ‘For’ and ‘Against’ Aamir Khan. Anupham Kher lashed out Aamir while  Pakistani Film maker Jamshed Mahmood Raza extended his support. Now Aamir has explained his stand regarding this issue.

He said, “We never did (have any intention of leaving), and nor would we like to in the future. Anyone implying the opposite has either not seen my interview or is deliberately trying to distort what I have said. India is my country, I love it, I feel fortunate for being born here, and this is where I am staying”.

Venkaiah Naidu said, “Some people are misleading and some people are misled. Who comes in which category, I do not want to say. In my honest opinion, India is better than any other country. There is more tolerance in India. People of India are tolerant.”
