Now-a-days education has become a business. It has become a huge market. It has become so costlier but what about the quality of education. It is deteriorating day by day. All of educational institutions are looting money from the people. People are using education field to make money. The rich kids can afford them but what about the poor?

The Kerala government announced an educational scheme to help the backward classes in the society. We all know that Kerala is top rated state in education. Introducing such schemes takes education to every nook and corner of Kerala. It will be really useful to the backward classes who have discontinued their studies due to financial problems.

The Kerala government has introduced an education loan replacement scheme to provide education to the backward classes. The programme is designed to help the down trodden people of the society who are in dire need of help for their education.

The chief minister Pinaraya Vijayan said that”it is not a loan waiver programme, but scheme to help replacement of education loan “Loans up to nine lakhs will be granted under this scheme. There will be a burden of about 900 crore on the government to implement this scheme.

The scheme was introduced at the special session held at the old assembly hall at the secretariat complex. It is the day of 60th anniversary of the first sitting of the legislative assembly. The first sitting was held on 27/04/1957. At that time communist government was in rule headed by E M Sankaran Nambootripad.

Vijayan and others leaders from ruling party and opposition leaders memorized all the incidents over past 60 years and the new trend and progress set by the government. Vijayan considered this sitting as a historic moment.

The meeting was preceded over by the opposition leader ramesh Chennithala, former chief minister V S Achuthanandan, Oommen Chandy and lone BJP member O Rajagopal.

Educational Minister Raveendranath introduced a bill to make teaching in Malayalam compulsory in the state. The bill emphasizes in making teaching in Malayalam compulsory in all government, aided and non- aided, private organizations in CBSE, ICSE and other boards.
